Chilrden's Book: In Progress

After I graduated from MICA and started my job at High Rock Studios I decided to spend some time on a personal project just for fun. I won't go into too much detail about the story since it's still under construction, but I will say that it's about a cheetah cub and his life of growing and learning. Cheetahs have been my favorite animals since I was five years old, so I occasionally pay tribute to them in my artwork.

I created the illustrations in Photoshop using a Wacom Tablet. In total the book will be 32 pages long and the dimensions will be 8" x 10" with a resolution of 300 dpi.

At the moment I can't share any larger images or specific pages in the book, but I'll give a brief overview and if you like what you're reading, please follow the Amazon link above to purchase a copy!

In 2010 at the age of eighteen, I was hired by author and child therapist Pamela Little-Hayes who wrote this delightfully creative and educational book about how to manage anger. The book follows several dragon kids, some of whom are misbehaving and some of whom are managing their anger in a healthy and appropriate way. In addition, it contains a series of small illustrated panels at the end that offer various suggestions on how to control anger, such as swimming, punching a pillow, etc.

On a side note, if you've looked at my 3D portfolio, you may find the cover dragons above somewhat familiar. I liked that blotchy pattern so much that I created a similar version of it for my 3D creature nearly six years later!
